Yeah, tat is me. Amazing rite? I also wanna holding a muffin on 84 days with my 6-packs. But.... I am going to Europe tmr for 2 weeks.. Eat.. shop...eat...shop... I am wondering how i would be like when i am back. Think instead of 84 days, i need to set it at 100 days?

Anyone wants to bet with me in 84 days can i build up my 6-packs? His 1st Day photo was exact look like mine with the big tummy... hahaha. Yeah, my actual goal is to build up 6 packs, but have no intention to be such muscular as him.

Some of you might think weight-loss is very bad for health coz it is always link to starving, slimming pills (XXX) which cause to liver failure, actually is losing body water, or instead of fat, it is actually burning away your muscles. But pls take a look a below pic. It is my last 5 weeks records. It is recorded very detail how many of my body water, fat, Visceral fat, Bone mass, etc. So as u can see, my body water is increasing coz i consume a lot of water. My body and visceral fat drops a lot. And it is just very minor drop in my muscles. And from my BMR age, it is 20! Means i got age 20 body. Haha!! Actually i worry more than u guys. I also worry if taking Herbalife products will be like the same case as XXX which will cause to liver failure. That is why i went to full medical checkout after taking the products for 2 months. Yeah, everything is just perfect and my high cholesterol problem no longer exist.

Starving? By replacing 1 breakfast & 1 dinner with the milk shake (lunch as per normal) , the 1st 2 weeks i felt a bit hungry. But after tat, i feel ok now and as long as u have put in enough powder (Formula 1), i can tahan for 4 hours. I never starve myself this 2 months coz starving is never work. Look at this. And by balancing a constant body sugar & insulin levels, then only u can achieve your goal. So no point to starve.

Ppl might say why spend money? We can archive the same thing by controlling our diet and exercise. In my previous post, i did mention that we need to (1) Nutrition (2) Exercise (3) Control what u eat. And i did mention that i have exercised for 4 months but still fat. And i did post a link regarding the villi. And actually the more u exercise, the more nutrition u need for your body. During exercise, we actually loss a lot of vitamins & minerals from our body. Imagine if u keep exercise without proper supplements to ur body & muscles, what would happen to ur body? U feel tired & very easy to stretch your muscles. And end up u give up everything and gain back your weight & fat!

I think very soon i will be become nutritionist instead of TA guy. Haha!! Okok, time for shopping. Today is sunday and my wife is angry now why i am still here...

Herbalife, then recommended by my sister. But my sister is not a member. I google the office location and simply walked in to their Orchard sales office. I said : "I want to be a member!" Then like this i meet the Miss YY. So funny, another YY. We have a nice talk and she said according to my BMI, i can loss another 10kg! Then i told her, that is my target in 3 months. Since after i followed my fatty angmo boss and ate dim sum nearly every week, my weight index has been growing up and up. 1 year ago i went for a body checkout, and my doctor said that my cholesterol a bit high and need some diet. Since then, i tried a few slim products & eat lesser but still failed to slim down. The only reason i can think of is i am lack of discipline & no exercise. Coming year 2008, i moved in my new condo and started to gym regularly. For the last 4 months, i consistantly went to gym every tue & thu, sometimes even on sun (if no go out or back early). I run non-stop for at least 30 mins (~9km/h). I cut down my rice intake. Yeah, I feel healthy now, and less headache, but guess what, how many kg i loss? ONLY 2kg in 4 months.

We all know that exercise is the best for diet. But tell u what, i think i am wrong. Undoubtfully, we need exercise, and since i start exercise, i feel good and have no intention to stop at all. But exercise does not mean u can slim down a lot. Different people with different body conditions come up with different diet results. By simply exercise might be work to certain people, but now at least i know that it won't simply work on me. I realised that i need regular exercise, control my meals, and take nutrition products.

After the failed of Lehman Brothers, followed by Merrill Lynch being taken over by Bank of America, the AIG one of the world's largest insurers has reported problem as well. AIG is the parent of AIA Singapore. Since yesterday, people have formed a long queue at AIA Singapore's customer service centre at Raffles Place. Some long term AIA policy holders told that they wanted to surrender their policies, even though there was a penalty for that. In the afternoon, i called my AIA agent, and he said that Singapore's Monetary Authority (MAS) requires all insurers must meet regulatory requirements so that all funds are protected. Well, i can only choose to believe, or given up? Every month i put in hundreds of dollars, luckily it splitted into AIA & Prudential.

有關方面的醫學專家指出，混用化妝品會傳染多種疾病，重者傳染上肝炎、愛滋病等。

昨日，記者在商場裡目睹了'免費試妝'，在化妝品櫃台前，擠滿了挑選化妝品的女性，營業員正拿著口紅、眉筆、粉餅、睫毛膏等產品往顧客臉上塗。

令記者吃驚的是在 10分鐘內一支口紅就畫了近 20名顧客，營業員稱，一支口紅可以試畫近300名顧客。眉筆、睫毛膏等產品同樣是大家混用。

記者看到，工作人員接連用相同的工具和化妝品，為三個人做了全套化妝，連洗手的水都沒換。剛去 '免費試用'了一回的馮小姐聽完記者的介紹後才意識到問題的嚴重性，她告訴記者，她的女性朋友們基本上都是先免費試妝後才會選購化妝品。

重慶醫科大學第二附屬醫院口腔科、皮膚科、傳染科方面的專家就此事集體接受了記者的採訪。他們指出，混用化妝品及其危險，會導致口腔疾病、皮膚病、肝病、愛滋病等疾病的傳播。該院傳染科主任張大志博士分析說，應該禁止化妝品這樣使用 , 它就等於大家共同使用一把牙刷。

張博士舉例子：如果在一位免費試妝的女士嘴唇上有一個很微小的傷口(自己沒有痛的感覺，根本不知道)，而前面已經有一個肝病、愛滋病患者用過，那麼她嘴唇上細小的口子根本就不可能抵擋住病毒的入侵，結果是導致自己患上傳染病。

When you are driving a car, if you meet a guy who rides a motorbike with bloody hand, knocking on your window and demand that you stop and asking for tissue paper to clean the blood, DO NOT STOP TO HELP HIM. Even though he damages your car or holds onto the side mirrors tightly also DO NOT stop the car but directly drive to the nearest police station. This kind of criminal tactics had been reported in more than 40 cases in Seremban, Kuala Lumpur, Shah Alam, P.Jaya and Klang Town police stations (actually around the whole country this had also happened).

These guys are mainly Indian gangsters. They work in a group and dared to commit this type of crime even in the crowded area whereby no body will dare to stop the car to help you. The main purpose of this dirty tactic is to rob you and/or even commit rape if you are a female driver driving alone. Please forward this message to the people you care about most.

INTRODUCTION

The Southern Ridges are a 9-km chain of hills stretching from Mount Faber Park through Telok Blangah Hill Park to Kent Ridge Park.

The Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore (URA) is constructing two bridges & elevated walkway that will link up the hill parks. When completed by early 2008, the linkages will give visitors access to the hill parks to experience the green expanse of the beautiful Ridges.

Bridge across Henderson Road

This bridge spans Henderson Road and the steep slopes to connect Mount Faber Park to Telok Blangah Hill Park.

Bridge across Alexandra Road

This bridge spans Alexandra Road and continues eastward as an elevated walkway skirting around the reservoir and finally linking up to Telok Blangah Hill Park. The bridge has a ramp on each side of Alexandra Road, leads to the Horticulture Park at Hyderabad Road and to the park land at Gillman Village.

Singapore's Temasek confirms Merrill Lynch stake

SINGAPORE (AFP) - - Singapore's state-linked investment firm Temasek Holdings, the largest shareholder in troubled US investment bank Merrill Lynch, confirmed on Tuesday it was increasing its stake.

The move is the latest Singapore investment in global financial houses battered by a crisis that began in the US subprime, or higher-risk, mortgage sector.

In a brief statement, Temasek said it "confirms its commitment of US 3.4 billion dollars in the public offering by Merrill Lynch, a portion of which is subject to regulatory approval."

Merrill Lynch announced Monday it was dumping billions of dollars of mortgage debt at a steep loss and raising 8.5 billion in new capital, including the 3.4 billion from Temasek.

The announcement came after Merrill on July 17 posted a net loss of 4.89 billion dollars for the second quarter.

The subprime crisis has wreaked havoc in financial markets and led to a credit squeeze that sparked fears for the global economy.

Temasek had already committed in December to injecting 4.4 billion dollars, which it could increase by another 600 million dollars, into Merrill Lynch.

That initial investment came with a requirement that if Merrill raised more capital within 12 months at a price lower that the 48 dollars per share that the Singapore fund paid, it would be compensated for the difference.

Temasek said its new commitment "includes a sum of US 2.5 billion dollars arising from a reset payment which Merrill Lynch has agreed to pay to Temasek as an adjustment to the price of Temasek's original investment made in December 2007."

The Singapore firm is putting that 2.5 billion back into Merrill, along with another 900 million dollars.

When contacted by AFP, Temasek spokesmen declined to say why the firm decided to increase its stake.

"It is somewhat surprising," said Leon Perera, group managing director of Spire Research and Consulting in Singapore, adding Temasek was benefiting now from the hedges it built in to the December agreement.

He said Temasek "in a sense" could be seen as getting a bargain.

Merrill Lynch described Temasek as its largest shareholder, but a Temasek spokesman would not say what percentage of Merrill Lynch shares it will hold on completion of the latest deal.

Following the stake it took in December, Manish Kejriwal, Temasek's senior managing director of investments, said Temasek's involvement was "a vote of confidence for the management team, and the underlying strengths of Merrill Lynch's franchise."

Temasek still clearly has long-term faith in the US bank, Perera said.

"If they are willing to wait it out, I don't see any major risk," he told AFP.

Temasek controls some of Asia's best-known companies, including Singapore Airlines, Neptune Orient Lines and Singapore Telecommunications.

It is one of two investment vehicles of the Singapore government. The other is the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC).

GIC has bought multi-billion-dollar stakes in two other financial institutions battered by the housing crisis, the Swiss-based UBS bank and US banking giant Citigroup.

Temasek has said its net portfolio worth is more than 100 billion US dollars while GIC said it manages "well above" 100 billion dollars. Analysts say the GIC figure could be as much as 300 billion or more.

Those figures place Temasek and GIC among the largest sovereign wealth funds in the world, according to an October report by Citigroup Global Markets Inc.

Such funds are a form of government-created investment vehicle that have emerged as a potent force in global markets, leading to concerns over a lack of transparency and national security in recipient countries.

我拎著剛買的levi's 從茂業出來，站在門口等一個朋友。
一個職業乞丐發現了我，非常專業的、徑直的停在我面前。這一停，於是就有了後面這個讓我深感震撼的故事，就像上了一堂生動的市場調查案例課。為了忠實於這個乞丐的原意，我憑記憶盡量重複他原來的話。

"那你每天能討多少錢。"我繼續問。

"週一到週五，生意差點，兩百塊左右吧。週末，甚至可以討到四、五百。"
"這麼多？"
見我有些懷疑，他給我算了一筆帳。 "和你們一樣，我也是每天工作 8 小時，上午 11 點到晚上 7 點，週末正常上班。我每乞討 1 次的時間大概為 5 秒鐘，扣除來回走動和搜索目標的時間，大概 1 分鐘乞討 1 次得 1 塊錢， 8 個小時就是 480 塊，再乘以成功機率 60%[ （ 70%+50% ）÷ 2] ，得到將近 300 塊。"
"千萬不能黏著客戶滿街跑。如果乞討不成，我決不死纏濫打。因為他若肯給錢的話早就給了，所以就算腆著臉糾纏，成功的機會還是很小。不能將有限的時間浪費在無施捨慾望的客戶身上，不如轉而尋找下一個目標。"
強！這個乞丐聽上去真不可貌相，倒像是一位資深的市場營銷總監。

"你接著說。"我更感興趣了，看來今天能學到新的東西了。

"有人說做乞丐是靠運氣吃飯，我不以然。給你舉個例子，女人世界門口，一個帥氣的男生，一個漂亮的女孩，你選哪一個乞討？"

我想了想，說不知道。
"你應該去男的那兒。身邊就是美女，他不好意思不給。但你要去了女的那邊，她大可假裝害怕你遠遠地躲開。"
"再給你舉個例子。那天cocopark門口，一個年輕女孩，拿著一個購物袋，剛買完東西；還有一對青年男女，吃著冰淇淋；第三個是衣著考究的年輕男子，拿著筆記本包。我看一個人只要3秒鐘，我毫不猶豫地走到女孩面前乞討。女孩在袋子裡掏出兩個硬幣扔給我，並奇怪我為什麼只找她乞討。我回答說，那對情侶，在吃東西，不方便掏錢；那個男的是高級白領，身上可能沒有零錢；你剛從超市買東西出來，身上肯定有零錢。"

有道理！我越聽越有意思。

"所以我說，知識決定一切！"我聽十幾個總裁講過這句話，第一次聽乞丐也這麼說。
"要用科學的方法來乞討。天天躺在天橋上，怎麼能討到錢？走天橋的都是行色匆匆的路人，誰沒事走天橋玩，爬上爬下的多累。要用知識武裝自己，學習知識可以把一個人變得很聰明，聰明的人不斷學習知識就可以變成人才。21世紀最需要的是什麼？就是人才。"

"有一次，一人給我50塊錢，讓我替他在樓下喊'安紅，我想你'，喊100聲。我一合計，喊一聲得花5秒鐘，跟我乞討一次花費的時間相當，所得的酬勞才5毛錢，於是我拒絕了他。"

"在深圳，一般一個乞丐每月能討個千兒八百。運氣好時的大概兩千多點。全深圳十萬個乞丐，大概只有十個乞丐，每月能討到一萬以上。我就是這萬里挑一中的一個。而且很穩定，基本不會有很大的波動。"

太強了！我越發佩服這個乞丐了。

"我常說我是一個快樂的乞丐。其他乞丐說是因為我討的錢多，所以快樂。我對他們說，你們正好錯了。正是因為我有快樂、積極的心態，所以討的錢多。"

說的多好啊！

"乞討就是我的工作，要懂得體味工作帶來的樂趣。雨天人流稀少的時候，其他乞丐都在抱怨或者睡覺。千萬不要這樣，用心感受一下這坐城市的美。晚上下班後帶著老婆孩子逛街玩耍看夜景，一家三口其樂融融，也不枉此生了。若是碰到同行，有時也會扔個硬幣，看著他們高興的道謝走開，就彷彿看見自己的身影。"

"你還有老婆孩子？"我不禁大聲讚歎，引來路人側目。

"我老婆在家做全職太太，孩子念小學。我在福田區按揭了一套房，十年分期，還差六年就還清了。我要努力掙錢，供我兒子讀大學念市場營銷專業，然後子承父業當一個比我更出色的乞丐。"

"我5年前在微硬中華大區做市場策劃，2年前升為營銷經理，月薪5千。那時按揭了一台1萬多的三星筆記本，每個月還款2千，要死要活的。後來我想這樣永遠也出不了頭，就辭職不干了，下海來做乞丐，我願意做一個高素質的乞丐。"

成也诸葛，败也诸葛

在《三国演义》中，诸葛亮是蜀汉政权的主要领导者之一，为蜀汉政权的建立立下汗马功劳。在他辉煌的一生中，几乎计无不中，谋无不成，近乎神，很少有人论及他的失误。然而，为什么三国时期蜀汉政权最先灭亡？“成也诸葛，败也诸葛”。

诸葛亮的十大过错

一：架空刘禅.刘备死后,由于刘禅年幼,由诸葛亮执政.当刘禅长大成人后,作为臣子的诸葛亮理应把军政大权移交给皇帝刘禅.但诸葛亮没有这样干,而是把军政大权进一步控制在自己的手中.更派人监视后主的一举一动。令刘禅敢怒不敢言，刘禅想抢回大权，但满朝都是诸葛亮的亲信，只好信任宦官黄皓，造成千古遗憾。

　　二：穷兵黩武，祸国殃民。诸葛亮在执政期间，仅为完成“先主之心愿”和他自己的“隆中对”的策略而不顾国力民力，六出祁山。由于力量相差太远，无法收复中原，反而令国家背上一个大包袱，并直接影响他的继承人姜维，令北姓生活在水深火热之中。

　　三：不挖掘，吸收，培养新人才。刘备死后，诸葛亮不挖掘，吸收，培养新的人才。原来的老后，造成人才青黄不接，“蜀中无大将，廖化当先锋”的可悲局面，驾驶了蜀国的灭亡。

　　四：压抑，把击原有优秀人才。刘备死后，很多优秀人才得不到重用。如赵云老死赎中。而很多虚有其表的得到重用。

　　五：处理内部矛盾不恰当。对内部将士之间的矛盾，诸葛亮采用两边安抚的方法。刘备在世时，封关羽，赵云，张飞，马超，黄忠为五虎大将，时关羽不受。诸葛亮让费诗拍关羽的马屁，令关羽更加骄横，为失荆州埋下祸根。对魏延和杨仪的矛盾，同样采用两边安抚的方法，使两人矛盾无法根除，为魏延造反埋下祸根。

　　六：不敢直言刘备过失，不敢劝阻刘备过错。刘备调诸葛亮入川，授意留关羽守荆州。诸葛亮明知关羽不可当大任而不让赵云代关羽守城，对失荆州有不可推卸的责任。刘备东征东吴，不敢直言利害，也不要求从军，只负责后方建设，导致刘备兵败，死于白帝城。刘备说：“若法正在，安有此败？”可见对诸葛亮失望至极。

　　七：错误选择继承人。诸葛亮将自己的继承人定为只懂打仗的姜维。费炜等只是过渡人物。造成姜维执政后，不顾人民幸福和国力强弱，强行九伐中原而血本无归，加速蜀国亡国的痛苦局面。

　　八：不懂处理后事。在五丈原，诸葛亮临终前将大权交给一介书生杨仪，而杨仪与宿将魏延有极大的矛盾。杨仪获大权后剥夺魏延兵权，逼使魏延反乱，无人附和而逃亡，后被马岱追杀，自毁长城。

　　九：对江东一味退让，令江东得寸进尺，造成部下失和。难道仅为“东和孙权，北拒曹操”的隆中对？？？！！！

　　十：任人唯亲。对街亭这样的重地交给刘备临终时一再叮咛要小心的马谡，不起用优秀人才如赵统，赵广。

股市孙子兵法

1、虚者胜孙子曰：“兵者，诡道也。”意思是欺骗敌人也是一种兵法。若只是正直作战是不能获胜的。欺骗人或被欺骗有时也是一种智慧的比赛，也是一种策略。孙子在兵法中一再说过，真实的策略要隐瞒，因为如果让敌方知道了真实情形，则我方的弱点暴露就会招致失败。“兵之形，避实而击虚”。关于虚实有两种解释，其一是空虚的虚，指力量薄弱，给人有机可乘。充实的实，指士气旺盛，战斗力强的状态。第二种解释就是虚伪的虚，事实的实。股价的变动，反映了投资者内心的虚实。有很多的投资者并没有自己的谋略，仅仅领先商业情报作为谋略攻势。但只依据情报往往是不能获胜的。要注意事实，所谓事实，就是要收集可以信赖的数字，然后作定量的研究，根据自己的目的意图把这些数字作适当的处理，这样，自己就会有一个根据地，然后从这里看清股市的虚实动态，等待攻击的机会。

　 2、要跟从势孙子曰：“势者，因利而制权也。”将此运用到投资方面的意思就是：股票市场上的势就是资金的流动。金钱流动的强弱就代表封的强弱，势是因为期待赚钱而产生的。期待愈大，资金的流动性也就愈大，势就愈强，而其他人也会跟着这个势进行，所以也就加强了这个盛世，在这种状态下任何人都无法压制这个势。这势就会发挥意想不到的威力，而出现令人惊异的行情。孙子认为在战争中，要保持站在有利的地位，只要拥有有利地位，势就永远在自己这边，但势的变动性很大。现在虽然在自己这边，可只要敌人一有动静，自己这方就有可能陷入不利的地位。投资股票也是如此，因为大家都想赚钱，于是顺着强势而去买股票，股票也因此而一路高涨，但这时候只要某些人开始套利，那投资者赚钱的期待就会感到不安，买手采取观望的态度，势也就慢慢萎缩了。在此期间，如果卖压一增加，今后对于涨价的希望就会破灭，股价也会下跌。所以说，市场的动态是由势来决定和支配的，而自己的力量无法造成势的投资者，就只有跟着势来进行。但必须跟着势强的股票，以加强本身的势。

　 3、文武双全孙子曰：“故令之以文，齐之以武，是谓必取。”意思是所以要教士兵学会仁义，以军法训练士兵，才能成为必可取胜之军旅。运用于股票市场就是：“文”就如股票投资中的基本分析，“武”就象股市中的技术分析，作为一个投资者要文武双全，才能出入自如，成为股市上赢家。

　 4、结交须先知孙子曰：“是故不知诸侯之谋者，不能预交。”意思是不了解各国诸候的企图，不能与之结交朋友。在股票投资中，与其他做手一起炒股票必须事先了解其他做手的目的，投资策略是什么，作到知已知彼，以免偷鸡不成反蚀一把米。

　 5、静观其变孙子曰：“火发而兵静，待而勿攻。”意思是敌人内部火势已经燃起，而敌军仍能保持镇静，要观察等待，不要马上进攻。在股票行场中，在低档价位出现连续利空，且重大的利空出现而股价仍然跌不下去时，不要把股票卖出去，更不可放空。

　 6、贵在先知孙子曰：“明君贤将，所以动而胜入，成功出于众者，先知也。先知者，不可取一鬼神，不可象于事，不可验于度，必取于人，知敌之情者。”意思是：“英明的君王，贤能的将帅，之所以一出兵就能战胜敌人，成就超出一般人之上，就是因为能先了解敌情。要事先了解敌情，不可取决于鬼神迷信，不可以用过去相似的事做比较，也不可以用日月星辰运行的位置做推测的依据，一定要取决于间谍的情报，才能真正了解敌情。在股票市场中，只有知已知彼，才能百战百胜，尤其是在敌暗我明的情况下，更应如此。市场主力大户的心理是难以推测的。

　 7、心迷股市转，心悟转股市孙膑曰：“凡兵之道阵、势、变、权。”察此四者，所以破强敌，取猛将也，得四者生，失四者死。”意思是凡数战斗有四要素：第一；实施战斗在于阵；第二，阵势优于敌人；第三，造成胜敌之优势；第四，乘势掌握机会在于权。战争的目的在于求得胜利，胜利在于战略战术设计之优良，而战略战术的设计，则以阵、势、变、权为战斗的四要素。所以孙膑说：能够明察这四种道理的，就可以破强敌而擒猛将，得此四者则生，失此四者则死。在股票市场中，作为投资者要心迷股市转，心悟转股市，在进行股票操作前，先策划整体的操作战略，瞄准和确认股市中的大势，占有比对方更有利的优势地位，随机应变，善于把握比较好的时机，能够做到这样，在股票市场中定能稳操胜算。

　 8、必备素质孙子曰：“将帅须知，1.上知天之道;2.下知地之理;3.内得其民之心;4.外知敌之情;5.用兵则知八阵之运用日;6.见可胜之形则战;见无可胜之形则上。”意思是，作为将帅需要知道天之道即阴阳、寒暑风雨、晦明。下知地之理，即为知道地之远近、阴易、广狭、死生。内得其民之心，即为内得其民则同仇敌忾，为国家效命。外知敌方之情，即为知敌之强弱，将之贤愚，以及正品、装备、战术等。用兵则知八阵之部署与运用，则可以知已之长攻敌。在股票市场中，作为市场主力和操盘者需要知道股票的大势，了解投资大众的心理，也要了解公司董监事对股价所持的态度，还有其他主力对作的现象。另外，在炒股票时，要注意制定策略，在有把握赢的趋势中才下场，若在没有把握的情况下应暂时休息。

　 9、攻其不备出其不意孙子曰：“攻其不备，出其不意”意思是在战争中，要乘敌人在无防备的情况下，在敌方思想松懈，放松警惕的情况下，乘敌人不注意时攻打没有防备的地方。在股票投资中也是如此，一些市场老手和做手总是在市场热火朝天、大势正旺的时候卖出股票，而在市场冷落，人流稀少，岌岌可危的情况下买进股票，最后总是硕果累累。

　 10、兵贵神速孙子曰：“故兵贵胜不贵久。”意思是用兵作战的目的是要取得胜利，绝不能拖延太久。因为战争一拖延太久，就会失去精锐的士兵，战斗力就会降低。另外，如果战争拖得过久，国家的负担就过大，费用会增加。在股票投资上也是如此。所以在股市处于盘局的情况下不要进入股市，待冲破趋势线，并出现买、卖讯号时再进场，真可谓事半功倍。

I was the United Nations expert in Disaster Mitigation for two years. I have worked at every major disaster in the world since 1985, except for simultaneous disasters.

The first building I ever crawled inside of was a school in Mexico City during the 1985 earthquake. Every child was under its desk. Every child was crushed to the thickness of their bones. They could have survived by lying down next to their desks in the aisles. It was obscene, unnecessary and I wondered why the children were not in the aisles. I didn't at the time know that the children were told to hide
under something.

Simply stated, when buildings collapse, the weight of the ceilings falling upon the objects or furniture inside crushes these objects, leaving a void next to them. This space is what I call The TRIANGLE OF LIFE. The larger the object, the stronger, the less it will compact. The less the object compacts, the larger the void, therefore, the greater the probability when the person using this void for safety will not be injured.

The next time you watch collapsed buildings, on television, count the 'triangles' you see formed. They are everywhere. It is the most common shape, you will see, in a collapsed building.

TIPS FOR EARTHQUAKE SAFETY

1) People who get under objects, like desks or cars, are crushed to death. Almost everyone who do the wrongly preached 'ducks and covers' routine when buildings collapse, are crushed to death.

2) Cats, dogs and babies often naturally curl up in the fetal position. You should too in an earthquake. It is a natural safety/survival instinct. You can survive in a smaller void. Your can preserve your limbs better instead of facing amputation afterwards. Get next to an object, next to a sofa, next to a large bulky object that will compress slightly but leave a void next to it.

3) Wooden buildings are the safest type of construction to be in during an earthquake. Wood is flexible and moves with the force of the earthquake. If the wooden building does collapse, large survivable voids are created. Also, the wooden building has less concentrated, crushing weight. Brick buildings will break into individual bricks. Bricks will cause many injuries but less squashed bodies than concrete slabs.

4) If you are in bed during the night and an earthquake occurs, simply roll off the bed. A safe void will exist around the bed. Hotels can achieve a much greater survival rate in earthquakes, simply by posting a sign on the back of the door of every room telling occupants to lie down on the floor, next to the bottom of the bed duringan earthquake.

5) If an earthquake happens and you cannot easily escape by getting out of the door or window, then lie down and curl up in the fetal position next to a sofa, or large chair.

6) Never stand under a doorway ! Almost everyone who gets when buildings collapse is killed. How? If you stand under a doorway and the doorjamb falls forward or backward you will be crushed by the ceiling above. If the door jam falls sideways you will be cut in half by the doorway. In either case, you will be killed!

7) Never go to the stairs. The stairs have a different 'moment of frequency' (they swing separately from the main part of the building). The stairs and remainder of the building continuously bump into each other until structural failure of the stairs takes place. The people who get on stairs before they fail are chopped up by the stair treads horribly mutilated. Even if the building doesn't collapse, stay away from the stairs. The stairs are a likely part of the building to be damaged.
Even if the stairs are not collapsed by the earthquake, they may collapse later when overloaded by fleeing people. They should always be checked for safety, even when the rest of the building is not damaged.

8) Get Near as near to an outside wall of the building as possible (Or Outside Of Them) *** Get yourself as near to an outside wall of the building as possible, instead of being in the interior. The farther inside you are from the outside perimeter of the building the greater the probability that your escape route will be blocked.

9) People inside of their vehicles are crushed when the road above falls in an earthquake and crushes their vehicles; which is exactly what happened with the slabs between the decks of the Nimitz Freeway. The victims of the San Francisco earthquake all stayed inside of their vehicles. They were all killed. Everyone killed would have survived if they had been able to get out of their cars and sit or lie next to
them. All the crushed cars had voids 3 feet high next to them, except for the cars that had columns fall directly across them.

10) I discovered, while crawling inside of collapsed newspaper offices and other offices with a lot of paper, paper do not compact. Large voids are found surrounding stacks of paper.

In 1996 we made a film, which proved my survival methodology to be correct. The Turkish Federal Government, City of Istanbul, University of Istanbul Case Productions and ARTI cooperated to film this practical, scientific test. We collapsed a school and a home with 20 mannequins inside. Ten mannequins did 'duck and cover,' and ten mannequins I used in my 'triangle of life' survival method. After the simulated earthquake collapse we crawled through the rubble and entered the building to film and documented the results. The film, in which I practiced my survival techniques under directly observable, scientific conditions, relevant to building collapse, showed there would have been zero percent survival for those doing duck and cover.

There would likely have been 100 percent survivability for people using my method of the The TRIANGLE OF LIFE This film has been seen by millions of viewers on television in Turkey and the rest of Europe , and it was seen in the USA , Canada and Latin America on the TV program Real TV.

After 32 years of competition and acquisition, Gates managed to ruffle some feathers, while still making some famous friends. After the end of this month, Gates plans to spend only 20 percent of his time as a Microsoft chairman. The rest of his time will be devoted to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and other pet projects.

Now technology company chief executives, founders and presidents are bidding farewell to Gates and the legacy he created at Microsoft. They may do it with a crack at his dancing skills or a quip about him stealing their dates, but many will still give him credit for three decades spent changing business in the technology world.

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA: Malaysian taxis are among the worst in the world, claims a survey by a local magazine.

Readers of The Expat magazine, which has a monthly circulation of 6,000 copies, gave the Malaysian taxi service a big thumbs down when compared with services in 22 other countries.

In fact, local taxis scored the lowest in almost every category polled. The survey's 200-odd respondents, comprising expatriates from 30 countries, even went so far as to brand local cabbies "a national disgrace", "a source of national shame" and "a serious threat to tourists - rude bullies and extortionists".

The most frequent complaint was of overcharging and taxi drivers refusing to take passengers who did not agree to pay a flat rate much higher than the regular fare.

The survey covered five main aspects, namely taxi quality, courtesy of drivers, availability on the street, availability by phone and driver job knowledge.

On a 10-point scale, local taxis got scores of 3.8, 4.4, 4.4, 4.8 and 5.5 for each respective aspect. This was in sharp contrast to the 8.6, 8.0, 8.1, 8.8 and 8.7 earned by taxi drivers in Singapore.

Expat Group CEO Andy Davison, whose company owns The Expat, said the high response rate combined with the absence of any really positive feedback, makes it clear people are unhappy with the current services on offer.

"In the last 10 years, we have done about 40 surveys among the resident expatriate community on many aspects of life in Malaysia.

"Most have produced very positive results, but our first survey on the taxi service has revealed a very negative picture," he said yesterday.

On suggestions on how to improve the image of local taxi drivers, Davison said that fares should be high enough that drivers would not feel the need to overcharge in order to make a living.

He also said driver training was an area that could be improved on.

When asked to comment, Taxi Operators Association chairman Datuk Aslah Abdullah said he couldn't deny the findings of the survey.

"However, you also need to check what the fares are in the other countries being compared, because that's where the problem here lies."

On training, he said drivers had undergone tutorials conducted by City Hall and taxi associations since the beginning of this year.

男的吃這頓飯吃得好辛苦, 因他85分鐘都用了來想著公司的那份計劃書該怎樣做, 幸好女的一點也不發覺他心不在焉。

女的對男的說:「現在不算太晚,你不用送我了,我自己回家吧。」
明天就要交計劃書的男友,"立刻"答:
「好呀!那你小心點了,回家致電給我吧。再見。」

男的飛快回家,去埋首他的工作,他不停的做直至電話響起。他看看鐘原來已經半夜三點多,是誰這麼晚來電?
他接過電話, 原來是他的未來外母: 「我女兒現在還沒回家,你不是和她去了吃飯嗎?她怎樣了,我好怕....... 」

男的才記起女的說回到家後會致電跟他報平安, 但現在已經夜半二、三時她為什麼還不回家。男的心亂如麻,最後還是報警求助。

去到警局,警員問他: [ 她失蹤時的衣著是?」
男的:「這...她......想不起來...」
警員:「不打緊,你先放鬆一下,那衣服的顏色總會記得吧? 藍色? 紅色?」
男的:「我...我只想著份計劃書,吃飯也低下頭... 我不曾看過她的...」
警員:「她的髮型呢? 長髮?短髮?」
男的:「我跟她一起很多年了.我所以.怎麼她的東西我一點也想不起 .....」
警員:「你說她是你女友,你們最近很少見面嗎? 怎會連髮型也不知道,那她有帶首飾, 手袋嗎?」

男的也是無言以對。
離開警局,男的覺得很驚訝,驚訝他對女友的"不用心"。多年來他已把愛情的感覺當成一種習慣, 就連對他的女友也"習以為常", 已經不把她放在心上了。

已過了三天,女的還是音訊全無, 這三天男的除了擔心女友的安危,就是不停的想: 「她的髮型、她的衣著,我怎會不知道的!我一定要記起來!」

這晚,男的經過一條幽黑、灰暗的長街, 竟看見女的就站在長街的盡頭。男的高興得跑向她,想緊緊的擁抱她。
但走到女友的面前他就改變了主意,他雙手按著女友的肩膊,說: 「等一下,先不要動。讓我看清楚你, 你的頭髮、你的衣著,我要好好的記著。回想起那晚,其實是你發現我還有工作在身, 想我早點回家工作而叫我不用送你的。一直以來只有你還關心我的感受,而我卻不理會你。但不要緊,我已知道應怎樣去愛你、珍惜你。相信我,你的一切一切今後都會常在我心中的。」
女的:「你終於都懂得理會我的感受, 懂得珍惜我了...可惜已經太遲......」

男的忽然醒過來,原來剛才的是一場夢。夢醒後男的努力去想,夢中女友的衣著、髮型,但還是記不起來.....
隔天,男的終於再見到他的女友,就是在警員帶他到殮房認屍的時候......
望著躺在停屍間的女友,男的哭著說:

「我終於知道你的髮型,衣著,我現在才真正的看真你。我會記著的,永遠都會記著的... 我剛想到要珍惜你...你醒醒呀...不要就這樣離開我好嗎......」

男的剛學會珍惜, 卻已後悔莫及。現在他除了哭泣,就什麼都做不了......

在國內某地，有一個女司機開著一輛~
滿載乘客的長途客車行馳在盤山公路上。

山間公路上三名持槍歹徒居然盯上
漂亮的女司機，強迫中巴停下，
要帶女司機下車去「玩玩」。

女司機情急呼救，全車乘客噤若寒蟬。

只有一中年瘦弱男子應聲奮起，
卻被打傷在地。這位男子氣極，
奮起大呼全車人制止暴行，卻無人響應，
任憑女司機被拖至山林草叢。

半個時辰後，三歹徒與衣衫不整的女司機
歸來回到車上。車又將行~~~
女司機要被打傷流血的瘦弱男子下車。
男子不肯，僵持起來。

'喂，你下車吧，我的車不拉你！'

中年男子急了，說：
「你這人怎麼不講道理，
我還救你呢，難道我還錯嗎？」

「你救我？你救我什麼了？」
女司機矢口否認，引得幾個乘客竊笑。

中年男子氣極，恨自已身無大俠之力！
救人未救成，可也不該得此~~~
被驅逐下車的結果呀，他堅決不下。
「再說我買票了，我有權坐車！」

女司機揚起臉無情地說：
「不下車，我就不開。」

沒想到的是，
滿車剛才還對暴行熟視無睹的乘客們，
卻如剛剛睡醒般，
齊心協力地勸那男子下車：
「你快下去吧，我們還有事呢，
耽擱不起！」

有幾位力大的乘客~
甚至想上前拖這中年男子下車，
使人想起莫泊桑筆下【羊脂球】的情節。

三個歹徒咧著嘴笑，得意地笑了。
其中有個黑皮無賴毫不知恥地說：
「哥們把她玩恣了！」
另外兩個歹徒也胡言亂語：
「她是我對象，關你屁事！」

一場爭吵，
直到那男子的行李從車窗扔出，
他隨後被推擠而下。

汽車又平穩地行駛在山路上，
女司機掠了一下頭髮，按響了收音機。

車快到山頂，拐過彎去就要下山了，
車左側是劈山開的路，右側是百丈懸崖。

汽車悄悄地加速了，女司機臉上十分平靜，
雙手緊握著方向盤，眼睛淌出晶瑩的淚水。

一歹徒似乎覺察到了什麼，說：
「慢點開，慢點開，你想幹什麼？'」

女司機並不說話，車速越來越快。
歹徒企圖撲上去搶方向盤，
汽車卻像離弦的箭向懸崖衝去。

第二天，當地報紙報導：伏虎山區~
昨日發生慘禍，一中型巴士摔下山崖。
車上司機和十三名乘客無一生還。

大陆股市跌跌不休，上周沪深股指创下12年来最大周跌幅，16，17日两天又走出两根阴线，至此创造了A股历史上的第一次十连阴。6月 17日下午，损失惨重的股民终于爆发集体抗议事件。据互联网消息称，当天，上海黄浦区300多位愤怒的股民将上海证券交易所的电脑、显示屏、轿车砸毁。据悉，在武警的介入下，局面目前得以控制，但此消息已在大部分网站被删除。
据凤凰网快讯消息， 6月17日下午，在上海黄浦区发生集体抗议事件。当天下午15：00的时候，随着上海证券交易所的收市，只见一位70多岁的老人突然大声喊到：打倒 XXX，随后，他一下子把他位置上的电脑砸碎，营业部保安立即上前阻止。导致很多散户与保安之间发生冲突，在冲突中，一位年轻人忽然喊到："砸"！随即他把手中的杯子向显示屏扔去，显示屏当场被砸了个口子，同时这一号召得到在场300多位散户支持，纷纷砸向显示屏，电脑，玻璃，局势迅速进入混乱。

两分钟后，显示屏出现火情，5分钟后，119赶到，但所有散户都阻止消防员进入。又两分钟后，大批武警到达，只见局势一片混乱，30分钟后局势才被控制，但停在营业所外的2辆轿车被砸毁。

正当局势平静时，10多位壮汉却拿着油漆在路上写起了"股市不涨，休想开业"等字样，由于都涂在墙上，无法擦掉，导致平静的局面再次失控，一位中户乘大家不注意把"XX营业部"的牌子给砸了。此时，武警增加到了150名左右。

目前凤凰报导已经删除此条消息，其他多数大陆网站转贴也被删除。

大陆股市跌跌不休，上周沪深股指创下12年来最大周跌幅，16，17日两天又走出两根阴线，至此创造了A股历史上的第一次十连阴，上证指数盘中出现2769点的低位，再度创下近15个月以来新低。

大陆经济半小时栏目联合新浪，搜狐，和讯，东方财富网四家网站发起调查，结果显示，参与调查的投资者中亏损者的比例达到了92.51%，盈利的投资者仅有 4.34%，勉强保本的投资者为 3.15%；如此大范围的亏损，即便在过去漫长的熊市中，也极为罕见，事实表明，过去一年A股市场不仅没能有效增加国民的财产性收入，反而在不断地吞噬国民的个人财产。

Well, seems like i need to look for another source again. This is frustrated. It makes no sense to people to look at Yahoo! Finance if it is lack of previous day data. Hi Nkh, the article is too 'chim' for non-IT person. To put in simple way, the program makes an url calls to yahoo ( http://ichart.finance.yahoo.com/table.csv?s=[symbol]&a=[startMonth]&b=[startDay]&c=[startYear]&d=[endMonth]&e=[endDay]&f=[endYear]&g=d&ignore=.csv ). Then a csv file is returned from the request. Finally we internally process the csv file into whatever things we want.

May 19 (Bloomberg) -- Banks and securities firms, reeling from record losses resulting from the collapse of the mortgage securities market, are failing to acknowledge in their income statements at least $35 billion of additional writedowns included in their balance sheets, regulatory filings show.

Citigroup Inc. subtracted $2 billion from equity for the declining value of home-loan bonds in its quarterly report to the Securities and Exchange Commission on May 2 without mentioning the deduction in the earnings statement or conference call with investors that followed. ING Groep NV placed 3.6 billion euros ($5.6 billion) of negative valuations in its capital account, while disclosing only an 80 million-euro depletion to income.

The balance-sheet adjustments are in addition to $344 billion of writedowns and credit losses already reported on the income statements of more than 100 banks. These companies have raised $263 billion from sovereign wealth funds, their own governments and public investors to shore up capital. The balance-sheet writedowns also reduce equity, which needs to be replenished. Adding the $35 billion leaves the banks with a $116 billion mountain of losses to climb.

``The smart people are the ones who've identified the problems, put them out there in full transparency, and addressed them by raising more capital,'' said Michael Holland, who oversees more than $4 billion as chairman of Holland & Co. in New York. ``There is still billions of dollars of crap out there that hasn't worked itself through the system. Banks need more capital to work that all out.''

Accounting Rules

Taking losses on a balance sheet instead of an income statement is acceptable under accounting rules, which make a distinction between so-called trading books and long-term investments. Changes in value on the trading side go straight to revenue. Changes in the value of bonds held for the long haul can be marked down on the equity line of a balance sheet, as long as the declines aren't considered permanent.

Banks that are more willing to acknowledge their balance- sheet writedowns, such as Amsterdam-based ING, say the valuations of assets will be reversed when markets recover. ING, the biggest Dutch financial-services company, said in its first-quarter earnings report last week that the drop in the value of bonds tied to home loans that are held to maturity is irrelevant as long as the underlying mortgages don't default.

Under international accounting standards, ING doesn't have a choice between including the negative valuations in its income statement and keeping them on the balance sheet, said spokeswoman Carolien van der Giessen.

High Subordination

``ING has carefully selected securities with high level of subordination which can absorb substantial further losses on the underlying portfolios before impairments would be triggered,'' Van der Giessen said in an e-mailed statement.

Under the same logic, most of the writedowns on the income statements could be reversed if asset prices recover. While some declines in valuations may reverse, most of the losses are permanent impairments caused by surging defaults on U.S. mortgages, said Janet Tavakoli, author of ``Collateralized Debt Obligations & Structured Finance,'' published in 2004 by John Wiley & Sons Inc.

``Of course we can't tell how much of a bank's portfolio may actually be good stuff that will pay back at maturity,'' Tavakoli said. ``But there's tremendous value loss that's fundamental, not just due to credit market gyrations.''

Keeping those markdowns off income statements just delays the realization of the losses, according to Brad Hintz, a New York- based analyst at Sanford C. Bernstein & Co.

Paying Later

``The banks that have taken advantage of this accounting approach are going to have a price to pay later,'' said Hintz, the third-highest ranked securities analyst in an Institutional Investor magazine survey. ``You don't avoid the price. Those that have taken it all in their income statements will come out with clean balance sheets and move on.''

Ignoring bad debt and postponing inevitable losses was one of the main reasons behind Japan's decade-long economic slump that began in the 1990s, said Boston University law professor Charles Whitehead.

Faced with new capital requirements and a weakened ability to meet them, Japanese banks deferred the recognition of their losses, aided by regulators who refrained from implementing the rules, Whitehead wrote in a 2006 paper published in the Michigan Journal of International Law.

``U.S. regulators may be tempted to go soft on banks too,'' said Whitehead, who teaches securities regulation, in an interview. ``The new capital rules already rely significantly on self-modeling by the banks. So if anything, the risks may be greater in the U.S. today than they were in Japan in the 1990s.''

Basel II

The new bank-capital regime, known as Basel II, has gone into effect in some European countries and is being implemented in the U.S. and others starting this year. It allows financial institutions to use in-house risk models instead of just relying on external credit-worthiness ratings in calculating their risk- weighted capital requirements.

The largest U.S. securities firms have been under capital requirements shaped by Basel II since 2004.

Even if regulators are soft on banks and brokers when it comes to capital requirements, investors won't be, according to Samuel Hayes, professor emeritus at Harvard Business School in Boston.

The collapse in March of New York-based Bear Stearns Cos., once the fifth-largest U.S. securities firm, shows that fulfilling regulatory capital requirements isn't sufficient to survive, Hayes said. The SEC has said Bear Stearns was ``well-capitalized'' until the moment it faced bankruptcy as clients and creditors lost confidence and withdrew their money.

More Capital Needed

``They have to keep raising capital levels, there's no getting around that fact,'' Hayes said. ``Perception is so important here. If investors or creditors feel a bank doesn't have a strong capital cushion to face further writedowns, that could prove problematic.''

A review of the balance sheets and regulatory filings of more than 50 banks showed that 20 of them chose to keep some subprime- related losses off their income statements. The marks were recorded instead on balance-sheet items labeled ``other comprehensive income'' or ``revaluation reserves.''

Seattle-based Washington Mutual Inc., which has taken $217 million of subprime-related writedowns against profits, kept a bigger amount on the other-comprehensive-income line of its balance sheet, which swung to a $782 million loss in the first quarter. Fortis, the Amsterdam and Brussels-based bank, put 990 million euros of losses in revaluation reserves, in addition to the 3.3 billion euros it reported on its income statement.

Merrill, Lloyds

Merrill Lynch & Co. in New York, which has booked $31.7 billion from market markdowns in its income statements, is keeping another $5.3 billion of losses on its balance sheet as other comprehensive income. The revaluation reserve reduction of 740 million pounds ($1.4 billion) at London-based Lloyds TSB Group Plc is bigger than the 667 million pounds charged against profit.

Officials at Citigroup, Merrill Lynch, Washington Mutual and Fortis declined to comment. Lloyds TSB spokeswoman Kirsty Clay said none of the assets included in the available-for-sale reserves are considered to be ``permanently impaired.''

The writedowns aren't finished yet. London-based Fitch Ratings Ltd. expects as much as $110 billion in additional losses on subprime securities.

Declines in asset prices have spread beyond subprime though, affecting other mortgage bonds, securitized car and student loans, leveraged lending that backs private equity buyouts and credit derivatives. When all that is included, the IMF estimates that total losses from the U.S. subprime debacle will reach $1 trillion, of which $510 billion will be borne by banks. That means some $130 billion in losses remains to be taken.

$100 Billion Gap

``The $100 billion hole between writedowns and capital raised so far needs to be filled,'' said Michael Mayo, a New York-based analyst who tracks the financial-services industry at Deutsche Bank AG. ``If you don't fill that hole, with the 20-to-1 leverage existing on average out there, you need to de-lever $2 trillion of assets. You can do that or raise more capital.''

One way to increase capital has been to halt or slow down the pace of share buybacks. Companies often repurchase stock to offset dilution that occurs when shares are distributed to employees as part of their compensation.

Citigroup, the biggest U.S. bank by assets, JPMorgan Chase & Co., the third-largest bank, and Morgan Stanley, the No. 2 U.S. securities firm by market value, have suspended stock-buyback programs. All the companies are based in New York.

Sovereign Funding

Outstanding stock increased 7 percent at Citigroup, 4.3 percent at Morgan Stanley, and 2 percent at JPMorgan during the past two quarters, according to regulatory filings. New York-based Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., the fourth-biggest securities firm, has done the same without announcing a suspension of its repurchase program. Lehman shares in circulation rose 4.3 percent.

The first place banks and brokers went looking for capital was in the deep pockets of the Asian and Middle Eastern sovereign wealth funds, flush with cash from rising commodity prices. Then they reached out to public investors, who were offered hybrid securities with characteristics of both equity and debt, limiting their dilutive impact on common shares.

The sovereign funds, which bought shares at 20 percent above today's market prices, are probably not coming back soon, said Jeffrey Rosenberg, a New York-based managing director at Bank of America Corp., who was among the first analysts to warn clients about the mortgage crisis.

`It's Like Shampooing'

Banks can't keep selling hybrid bonds because ratings firms place limits on how much of their capital can be tied up in such securities. Rosenberg said the next round of equity-strengthening probably will be in the form of common stock.

``It's like shampooing: lather, rinse, repeat -- write down, raise capital, repeat,'' Rosenberg said. ``How long can they keep doing it? Shareholders are in for a long ride.''

The max loss for the same trading rules is mean + 3 standard deviations of their trading results. Here's an example. If the average of all the losses is $10 and the standard deviation is $5, the max loss for thier results is $(10 + (5*3)) = $25.

Free EOD from Yahoo (Finally)

Finally, the chart is up. Now the historical data is direct link to yahoo. Pls take note of the below points..

1) U need to manually key in the symbol now instead of selecting from dropdown box. I just lazy to maintain the lists. U can click the "Lookup" link for the symbol. For example, EDEN is 7471.KL, and COSCO is F83.SI. I just maintain the composite index like KLSE Composite (^KLSE)

2) If u see big red cross box, pls enter the "Update Chart" button again to refresh the chart. It might be due to my bug or data from yahoo not stable.

3) The previous day data is delayed until 4pm to 5pm next day. This is a bit unacceptable. I am still thinking of a solution, and maybe will ask yahoo finance to update their historical data slightly early.

4) All data u see is totally from yahoo. I am not very sure yet how good quality of their data is. So trade with careful!

Late now, time for bed. In short, i am now NO longer need to maintain this chart now :)

Good news. I manage to find the free EOD data for my charting tool now. Sorry, no more BIZFUN :p

I believe many of us aware that the Yahoo provides free EOD data. However, i didn't expect at all that it has a link which can return u a text file in csv format which contains the FULL historical data. And it is only 1 request and the response is fast enough. Thanks to my colleague Vui for telling me this.

Since now i can get the data in CSV format, i then ask myself why should i keep all the histories on my local disk? Why should i spend hours every nite to process the data, to save on database, then upload to my online charting tool? With this thinking in mind, i searched google, and found this link http://www.eggheadcafe.com/tutorials/aspnet/f651bcc7-1256-4e4d-bbc1-95f88500d86b/c-net-yahoo-stock-downl.aspx . It is exactly what i need!

So my charting tool should be able to send a request to yahoo, then get the CSV file. Then convert it into Dataset on the spot. Everything done on the fly! Even i go holidays, the chart is still available. ZERO maintenance for me now. Great! I am working on it now and hopefully it will be available very soon.

SINGAPORE — Singapore has topped a list of cities around the world offering Asian expatriates the best quality of life, followed by Sydney, a survey from a human resources consultancy said Tuesday.

U.K.-headquartered ECA International's annual location ranking, which compares living standards in 254 international locations, found that Singapore is an ideal place for Asians to live in because of the quality of its infrastructure and health facilities.

The city-state's low health risks, air pollution, crime rates and cosmopolitan population added to its appeal, Lee Quane, ECA International's general manager in Hong Kong, told The Associated Press.

Quane noted, however, that while Singapore scored consistently well in most of the 15 categories used to asses each location, it saw a deterioration in some factors.

"Air pollution in 2007 was slightly higher than 2006, primarily due to the haze in 2007," Quane said. Haze from forest fires in neighboring Indonesia has become a major problem Singapore, where air quality levels have worsened every year during the dry season.

Sydney came in second, followed by Melbourne, Australia, and Kobe, Japan, which tied for third place in the ranking that combines data collected by ECA International with results of a survey of expatriates.

While Sydney and Singapore scored similarly well in criteria such as pollution levels, the quality of goods and services available, transport and infrastructure, the Australian city's geographical distance from Asia made it a less favorable location than Singapore, Quane said.

"For Sydney, Japanese or Chinese assignees will have to travel relatively long distances, and so it's much more difficult to maintain contact with family," Quane said. He added that cultural differences were also a factor.

The fifth-best city for Asian expats was Copenhagen, Denmark, the survey found, followed by Canberra, Australia (6th), Vancouver, Canada (7th), Wellington, New Zealand (8th), Yokohama, Japan (9th) and Dublin, Ireland (10th).

Elsewhere in Asia, Hong Kong and Tokyo were tied at 15th place.

Hong Kong made improvements in personal security and healthcare infrastructure but air pollution was likely to remain a problem, Quane said.

"People feel safer in Hong Kong than they have in recent years," he said. "But looking at the main reason why Hong Kong still lags behind Singapore is the issue of air pollution."

Quane noted, however, that Hong Kong scored better than Singapore in one respect: the media.

"In news and media, we regard Hong Kong as much more free and fair than in Singapore," he said.

The survey showed that Baghdad, Iraq, remains the least favorable place to live for Asian expats, followed by Kabul, Afghanistan and Karachi, Pakistan, because of the high risk to personal security and lack of suitable facilities for expatriates.

Heard that TENAGA faces a huge loss RM549 million on foreign exchange. Although at the end of the day it is still making profit, such a big company should not expose to huge currency risk. They should focus more on their core business, but not telling ppl that this quarter how much currency they have gain or loss. Are they bank? Hedging Against Volatility
So how can a business protect itself against currency volatility? One risk management tool that can help a business protect its profits from unforeseeable changes in the currency market is hedging. The primary goal when hedging is to protect your company's profits from exchange rate uncertainty at the lowest possible cost.

How to hedge against risk exposure
Individuals and businesses can easily reduce exposure to currency risk by taking positions in the spot currency market. For example, if a US company doing business with the UK wants to protect itself against a depreciating dollar, then the appropriate hedge would be to short dollars and go long pounds in the spot currency market. By using a trading account, the business can customize the amount of leverage it uses, (all amounts up to 100:1) so that even a perfect hedge is possible at a very low cost.

For instance: an American importer is expecting a shipment of 380,000 pounds sterling worth of British goods in four months. To pay his supplier, he will need to convert dollars to pounds.

Because he will not be making payment until the goods are delivered, there is a risk that the dollar may decline and make purchase more expensive. There is also a chance that it would appreciate and make the transaction cheaper, but the importer prefers to enter a hedge to avoid the risk of having to pay more in the future.

To hedge his risk, he buys 380,000 pounds in the currency market. If the pound appreciates (and consequently the dollar depreciates), he will profit in his trading account-and completely offset any losses he would have incurred by converting at the end of the four months.

Low-cost protection
Hedging can result in substantial savings. Without a hedge, a move from 1.79 to 1.93 (shown on the chart) would have meant that the importer paid $53,200 at the end of the four months! By protecting himself with a spot market trade, the importer made this $53,200 in his trading account and cancelled out the loss. The cost to make the hedge? $190.

Hedging in the spot market is a very effective and affordable way to protect against currency volatility. Since up to 100:1 leverage is available in a trading account, relatively little initial capitalization is needed.

An additional source of revenue
Of course, exchange rate movements can also provide opportunities to make additional revenues by taking positions in the currency market. The same market volatility that makes hedging necessary when doing business can also be used to make up for lost revenue when currency prices make your product more expensive abroad, for example.

UPGRADE FROM BOYFRIEND TO HUSBAND

Dear IT Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a slow down in the overall performance, particularly in the flower, gifts and jewellery applications that had operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.

In addition, Husband 1.0 un-installed many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, but installed undesirable programs such as Formula One 5.0, NBA 3.0 and World Cup 2.0.

And now Conversation 8.0 no longer runs and House Cleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system. I've tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.

What can I do?

First keep in mind:
Boyfriend 5.0 is an entertainment package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system.

Try entering the command C:\ I THOUGHT YOU LOVED ME and download
Tears 6.2 to install Guilt 3.0.

If all works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewellery 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.

But remember, overuse can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Late Night Teh Tarik 6.1.

Late Night 6.1 is a very bad program that will create SnoringLoudly.wav files.

Whatever you do, DO NOT install Mother-in-Law 1.0 or reinstall another
Boyfriend program. These are not supported applications and will crash
Husband 1.0.

In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have a limited
memory and cannot learn new applications quickly.

You might consider additional software to improve memory and performance. I personally recommend Hot Tasty Food 3.0 and Tongkat Ali 6.9.
